"Dragon Tales - Let's Play Together!" Review (Posted on 12-09-2014)
Another wonderful classic that has had its successful run on public television. Being that this is my first time diving into the series, I'm not surprised this show received multiple
Parents' Choice awards throughout the years.
The volume begins with commercials ads for
Trumpet of the Swan,
Thomas and the Magic Railroad and
Bear In The Big Blue House. The feature presentation begins with a mellow, yet catchy, opening tune that parents/guardians can help their kids sing to.
"I wish I wish with all my heart, to fly with dragons in a land apart."
— Emmy and Max
Now's a great time to memorize that chant as they are the magic words Max and Emmy use to venture out to Dragon Land! Throughout dragon land with friends Ord, Cassie and Zak & Wheezie, they go through situational moments where the dragons and the kids learn to deal with—occurrences of the happenings in everyday life. Messages portrayed in this volume very much spell out for themselves making them very easy to understand: patience is a virtue, always manage your anger and everyone's imagination tells a great story, or is as great as a story. Wheezie learns about being patient despite wanting to go on the popular Roller Coaster Dragon ride so badly; Since nothing went his way, Max learns about managing his anger and why it won't solve anything; The entire crew with the help of Quetzal, dive into his Magic Pop-Up book and share their imagination's stories to write a wonderful work of fiction with a happy ending.
After episodes
Roller Coaster Dragon and
The Fury Is Out on This One follows a fun sing-along called "Dragon Tales Tunes," featuring the songs "Pretend" and "Zoo" featured on this VHS. At the end are commercial sponsors for the show, those being Kellogg's Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes, plus a splash video for CPB: Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Very simple and very kid-friendly that I'm sure your children and/or your kindergarten classes will get a kick out of. Plus, this series is no ordinary entertainment; This is a series with serious life lessons and advices that'll surely stick to the youngsters enough to recall back as they grow and mature living our age.
I say, this an excellent cartoon series for (your) kids. Check it out!
